Summary, notice description and lot information
Scottish Borders Council is planning a procurement process titled "Care at Home Flexible Framework," aimed at developing care services within the Scottish Borders. This effort falls under the "General public services" category, with the consultation stage currently in progress. Interested parties are encouraged to participate by returning the provided questionnaire by 12 noon on 21st July 2025.
The intended framework will cater to specific needs in the UKM91 region, potentially commencing in late September 2025. This unprecedented consultation exercise, as part of the preliminary phase, is designed to accumulate insights that will aid in the formulation of a versatile framework for care services procurement. This tender represents a substantial opportunity for businesses specialising in community and social care services.
Companies with relevant expertise and innovative approaches to care at home solutions are particularly well-positioned to benefit. 3 million for 2024/25 highlights the scale of potential business growth for service providers. Participation in this flexible framework can lead to significant contracts, fostering long-term partnerships with the Scottish Borders Council and allowing businesses to make a lasting impact in the regional care market.
This is an ideal opportunity for experienced providers to influence procurement strategies and secure a foothold in the public sector services domain.
This Prior Information Notice is for consultation purposes and is not a procurement process at this stage. Scottish Borders Council are seeking expressions of interest and feedback from suitably qualified providers of care services to inform its approach to the procurement of care at home services within the Scottish Borders. The preferred option at this stage is a flexible framework but we are open to consideration of other options.. Care at home provision in the Scottish Borders currently stands at 6,441 hours per week with 960 clients in total. Forecast expenditure for 2024/25 is 12,300,000GBP.
