Summary, notice description and lot information
The Department for Education has initiated the contracting process titled "Children and Young People's Advisory Board for Children's Social Care," with an extension foreseen. The project falls under the social services industry category and seeks a supplier to recruit and manage advisory boards involving young individuals aged 11-25. This initiative is located in the UK and is currently in the tender update stage, following the award of the contract to the National Children’s Bureau on 12th December 2023, with a completion date set for 31st March 2025.
The procurement process follows an open procedure that is compliant with the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA). The estimated total contract value, including an extension, is £267,921 excluding VAT. This tender presents an opportunity for businesses specialising in participatory projects with young individuals and those offering expertise in safeguarding and pastoral care.
Such organisations can leverage this contract to showcase their capabilities whilst aligning with governmental priorities to incorporate youth perspectives in policy-making. Enterprises experienced in maintaining GDPR and IT security standards, capable of fostering a professional environment for young people, will be well-suited to compete, offering a platform for strategic growth and partnership with a high-profile governmental body.
The supplier will be responsible for creating an Advisory Board of children and young people aged 11-25 with a wide range of care experience. The aim for the board is that the members can bring fresh perspectives and challenge to our policy development as we move into the delivery phase of reform and that the views they share are given equal weighting to those from the sector. Young people have told us that opportunities to share their views with Ministers and senior civil servants directly is important to them. SCS across children's social care agree that this is a priority, and that we need to continue listening to children and young people as an integral part of our work. The Supplier will support us with these key elements, especially bringing safeguarding expertise and knowledge of effective pastoral care and experience in enabling children and young people to engage in a professional environment. The supplier will also support us with protecting children and young people's personal data. The supplier will adhere to DfE's stringent standards on GDPR and IT security and standards and demonstrate this effectively through their policies, procedures and practice.
