Summary of the contracting process

Powys County Council has issued a tender for a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) aimed at the Provision of Domiciliary Care Services within the Powys region, covering industry category 'Social protection'. This opportunity is targeted to address needs across multiple areas including Sessional Domiciliary Care, Live-in Care, and the Powys Teaching Health Board. The procurement process currently is in the tender stage, with a closing date set for 22nd February 2029, reflecting the recent legislative timeline mandates under the Procurement Act 2023.

Situated in Llandrindod Wells, the council invites registered providers to apply through the eTenderwales portal following a selective procurement method with a restricted procedure. The total value of the contract is estimated at £86,472,910 GBP. The re-opening of this DPS presents significant opportunities for businesses in the health and social care sectors.

With a flexible structure allowing providers to apply for one or more Lots, it offers avenues for both new entrants and established players aiming to expand their market presence. Such businesses must be registered with the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), ensuring they meet the necessary regulatory standards. This contract is particularly suitable for those specialising in domiciliary support, looking to leverage their expertise across the specified service Lots, thereby strengthening their presence in public sector procurement initiatives in the region.

Notice Description
