Facilitating the development of youth activity across Carmarthenshire's rural market towns

Carmarthenshire County Council is in the planning stage of a procurement process to appoint experienced youth facilitators for the development of youth-led activities in ten rural market towns across the County. This initiative is part of the Ten Towns programme, which aims to support the regeneration of these areas. The project, funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, falls under the services category and adheres to light-touch regime regulations.

The early market engagement exercise is scheduled to conclude on 8th August 2025, with a future notice expected by 11th August 2025. Interested parties are invited to engage via email, providing services specific to youth education, youth associations, public relations, and health and social work within the UKL14 region. This tender presents opportunities for businesses that specialise in youth facilitation, community engagement, and development services, particularly those with experience in working with public authorities.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community, and social enterprises (VCSEs) are well-suited to compete, given the focus on utilising community assets. The contract is valued at £72,000 gross, with a base amount of £60,000, and is expected to run from 10th September 2025 to 31st March 2026, with potential renewal options extending to 30th March 2027.
