Summary, notice description and lot information
Derby City Council has concluded a procurement process for a framework agreement titled "Framework for the Provision of Day Opportunities Services" within the Health and Social Work Services industry category. The contract involves various service providers offering outcome-focused, person-centred day opportunities to eligible customers aged 16+ within the Derby City area or a 10-mile radius. This initiative aims to support individuals with long-term conditions, frailty, dementia, mental health issues, and physical or learning difficulties.
The procurement stage is now complete, and contracts were awarded on 8th April 2025. The procurement method was an open procedure under the "Light Touch Regime" outlined in the Public Contract Regulations 2015. Six suppliers, including Alternatives Activity Centre, Community Links Support Limited, Disability Direct, Headway Derby, Opportunity Knocks S&K Ltd, and St James Centre - Moving Forward Service, have been contracted to provide these services.
This tender offers significant business growth opportunities, particularly for local SMEs and specialised service providers in the health and social care sectors within the Derby City region. By participating in this framework, businesses can enhance their market presence among local authorities and NHS organisations within the D2N2 area. Companies adept at providing high-quality, person-centred care services that encourage client independence and well-being are well-suited to compete under this framework.
The initiative not only promises economic benefits through service provision but also emphasizes social and environmental contributions to the community's overall regeneration. With initial contracts awarded for an active term and options for annual extensions up to five further years, businesses can secure long-term engagement and stability.
