Summary, notice description and lot information
The "GP Local Enhanced Services 2025/26 - Swallownest Health Centre" procurement process, conducted by NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, has reached the award stage. This contract pertains to services in the general practitioner industry, classified under CPV code 85121100, focused on delivering locally enhanced services to the residents of Rotherham. The procurement process, under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, was conducted through a limited method, specifically an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition.
This contract was confirmed on 8th July 2025, and it will commence on 1st April 2025, concluding on 31st March 2026. Swallownest Health Centre, located in Rotherham, was awarded this contract, and no conflicts of interest were identified during the award decision made by the Primary Care Delivery Group. This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses within the healthcare sector that possess the capability to integrate enhanced services alongside existing GP contracts.
Although this contract was directly awarded to Swallownest Health Centre, the nature of the procurement suggests opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) familiar with the NHS Payment Scheme to position themselves for future bids, particularly those equipped to deliver such integrated services within Rotherham. Potential entrants should focus on meeting the GP Framework and related specifications to become suitable contenders in upcoming opportunities of a similar nature, thereby fostering business growth in the regional healthcare market.
The provider is commissioned to deliver locally enhanced services for the Rotherham
population. This contract Award has been made following direct award process B under the
Provider Selection Regime.
These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not
restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the
contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be
delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via
the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to
enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency
between the two services is paramount.
The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract award is from
01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026. This is an existing service from an existing provider. Additional information: The contract value is unknown. The provider is paid in line with the relevant unit prices for the activity delivered in accordance with the nationally mandated NHS Payment Scheme.
