Summary of the contracting process

The East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is planning to award a contract for insourcing clinical services to support its new Mechanical Thrombectomy service under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR). The process aims to identify the most suitable provider without a competitive exercise. This procurement, classified under health services, falls under the category of services and is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.

The procurement stage is currently in planning, with interested parties required to submit expressions of interest by 13th September 2025, focusing on services provided by medical personnel. The tender, worth an estimated £1,000,000, is situated in Canterbury, UK (region UKJ44). All communications during this process are to be conducted through the Atamis portal, reflecting an efficient digital approach to procurement.

This tender represents significant opportunities for businesses capable of providing high-level clinical services. Companies experienced in delivering insourced healthcare services, specifically those with competencies in mechanical thrombectomy procedures, would be well-suited to compete. Providers that are part of or meet the criteria for the Crown Commercial Services' Insourced Services to Support the Provision of Healthcare framework (reference RM6276) are encouraged to explore this opportunity to collaborate with the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.

Successfully engaging in this contract could lead to substantial business growth and positioning within the healthcare services sector. Additionally, organisations not currently linked to the specified framework but possessing relevant expertise and NHS England accreditation are also invited to express their interest, potentially leading to expanded partnerships and service delivery opportunities.
