The NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care Board has completed a contracting process for the project titled "Liverpool Place Stock Holding of Palliative Care Medicines (Pharmacy)" located in the Liverpool region, categorised under health services. Pharmacies interested in similar opportunities should be prepared to meet the quality criteria focusing on patient choice and should have a robust setup for maintaining sufficient stock levels for palliative care medicines.
In order to ensure availability of palliative care medicines, both within hours (8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday) and ideally out of hours (evenings and weekends), a small number of selected community pharmacies across Liverpool will be remunerated to hold an ongoing stock of these medicines. Pharmacies providing the service will have adequate opening times in order to ensure provision in hours and ideally throughout evenings and weekends and will be located to provide geographical coverage across Liverpool. PS600 Annual payments will be made on submission of an invoice and annual audit, reimbursement of the drugs costs is separate.
NHS Cheshire and Merseyside ICB has awarded a 1 year contract via Direct Award A to selected Liverpool Pharmacies across Cheshire and Merseyside the contract commenced on 1st April 2025 and will expire on 31st March 2026 with an estimated contract value of PS11,400 with additional drugs costs. This is an activity based contract and funding is based on delivery of activity as outlined within the service specfification.
