NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (the Relevant Authority) intends to follow the Most Suitable Provider (MSP) process to award a contract for the provision of a Integrated Podiatry Service for South Tyneside and Sunderland. * The service will operate a single point of access for podiatry needs across South Tyneside & Sunderland. * The service will allow patient self-referral as a means of access. * The service will be delivered by a team of podiatrists and podiatry technicians, delivering high-quality integrated care including diagnosis, assessment and treatment of any deformity or disease of the foot. * The service will provide a wide range of treatment options with the aim of helping patients reach their optimum level of foot health and mobility, relieve pain, maintain/improve foot function, prevent or minimise deformity and reduce the risk of ulceration. This will include inpatient care as required for patients admitted under specialties including Vascular and Diabetology. * The service will promote good foot health, actively encouraging patients and their carers to take part in treatment and therefore retain responsibility for their own foot care wherever possible. This includes implementing a self-care and patient education programme for patients and referrers to ensure that patients access the most appropriate services. The Service Specification documents outline the requirements for delivering this service The contract will be for a period of 5 years and 2 months with the option to extend for a further 24 months at the discretion of the Relevant Authority and subject to satisfactory financial and contractual performance commencing on 01 February 2026.
