Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process detailed herein is a contract award under the Provider Selection Regime by the NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board, focusing on GP locally commissioned services. This award pertains to the health sector, specifically general practitioner services, and will be implemented in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The procurement stage is at the Award phase, and the contract is scheduled to be active from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026.
The procurement method used was limited, involving an award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, justified under the Healthcare Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, with no alternative realistic providers identified. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare service delivery, particularly those within the general practitioner sector. Companies capable of providing locally commissioned healthcare services aligned with the GP Framework would find this contract advantageous for growth.
Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), like the awarded supplier, Tramways and Middlewood Medical Centre, which are already entrenched in the local healthcare ecosystem, would be well-suited to compete for similar future contracts. The emphasis on enhancing existing GP Framework services underscores the importance of collaboration and integration within the healthcare sector, propelling potential service providers toward increased activity-based revenue generation.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
