Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process for the GP Locally Commissioned Services Contract at Charnock Health Primary Care Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, was overseen by NHS South Yorkshire ICB. This contract falls under the services category, specifically targeting general-practitioner services within the healthcare industry. The contract was awarded as part of the Provider Selection Regime under the 2023 Regulations, with the decision made by the Sheffield Senior Management Team in July 2024.
The procurement method was limited, without prior publication of a call for competition, and commenced on 1st April 2025 to conclude on 31st March 2026. The contracting process reached the award stage, with the contract being signed on 21st April 2025. This tender provides significant growth opportunities for service providers capable of delivering enhanced services under the GP Framework contract.
The contract focuses on integrating locally commissioned services with existing GP services, which is essential for maintaining comprehensive care standards. Although the process was a direct award, it presents opportunities for established healthcare providers that meet the contractual criteria to maintain and expand their service offerings. Businesses within the health services sector, especially those already working under the GP Framework, are well-positioned to benefit from such contracts, thereby strengthening their market position and expanding their service reach.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
