Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process for the NHS South Yorkshire ICB has reached the award stage for the GP Locally Commissioned Services Contract at Duke Medical Centre, located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This process falls under the healthcare services industry category with specific classification as general-practitioner services. The contract, awarded through the Provider Selection Regime and without prior publication of a call for competition, is intended to run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
The decision to award the contract was formalised in July 2024 by the Sheffield Senior Management and Leadership Teams, with the award confirmed to Duke Medical Centre on 23 May 2025. This contract offers a crucial opportunity for the Duke Medical Centre to provide essential healthcare services as part of the NHS framework, facilitating business growth through service expansion. Businesses involved in healthcare, particularly those operating within general-practitioner services, can effectively compete in such tenders if they align with existing NHS frameworks.
This contract is ideal for organisations capable of integrating local commissioned services with the GP Framework, thereby enhancing service provision through interdependent delivery models. SMEs in the healthcare sector could particularly benefit from engaging in similar procurement processes, by demonstrating compliance with specified criteria and leveraging local pricing models to secure contracts.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
