Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process is led by NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB), focusing on the "GP Locally Commissioned Services Contract - Heeley Green Surgery" in the health industry category. This contract pertains to general-practitioner services located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The procurement was a direct award carried out under a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition, as per the Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023.
The award decision was made in July 2024 by the Sheffield Senior Management Team, and the active contract spans from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. This contract provides a growth opportunity for existing healthcare providers, particularly those within the GP Framework, as it requires providers to deliver Locally Commissioned Services (LCS) which enhance the GP Framework contract. Businesses that can integrate LCS into their existing GP services will find this tender advantageous.
The procurement does not open up competition more broadly due to the specific criteria that only certain providers currently meet, making it less suitable for new entrants but ideal for established GP service suppliers looking to expand their offerings within this regulated framework.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
