Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process, led by NHS South Yorkshire ICB, focuses on awarding a contract for the delivery of General Practitioner (GP) Locally Commissioned Services at the Charnock Health Primary Care Centre. Categorised under general-practitioner services, this initiative falls within the healthcare industry and is situated in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The process has reached the award stage, with the contract commencing on 1 April 2025 and concluding on 31 March 2026.
The contract was awarded through a Provider Selection Regime, employing a limited procurement method without the prior publication of a competitive call. The award decision, made by the Sheffield Senior Management Team and Sheffield Leadership Team in July 2024, confirms there were no conflicts of interest. This contract presents a concentrated opportunity for existing healthcare providers already integrated into the GP Framework, given its specific requirement for the interdependence between Locally Commissioned Services and the GP Framework.
With Charnock Health Primary Care Centre identified as the supplier, businesses already operating within this framework can readily expand their service offerings and enhance their local presence. The focus on providing services where "no realistic alternative provider" is available means this is particularly suitable for established GP practices looking to leverage existing relationships and expertise within the South Yorkshire area. For businesses seeking growth, consistent service delivery and adherence to the specification are crucial to their successful participation and fulfillment of this contract.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
