Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process involves NHS South Yorkshire ICB, who has awarded a contract for GP Locally Commissioned Services at Meadowgreen Health Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This contract falls under the health industry category and was completed using the Provider Selection Regime without the need for a competitive call for tender. The procurement stage is at the award phase, following the decision made in July 2024, with the contract signed on April 1, 2025, and set to run until March 31, 2026.
The process highlighted the interdependency of these services with the existing GP Framework, which makes the required criteria for awarding based on quality and the uniqueness of local provisions. This tender presents opportunities for healthcare providers that are currently part of or can align with the GP Framework, given the focus on locally commissioned services and the non-competitive nature of the award process. Businesses positioned within the healthcare sector, especially those involved in general-practitioner services, are best suited to engage with such contracts, paving the way for them to expand their service delivery and solidify partnerships within the NHS framework.
The process has been tailored to maintain seamless integration into existing frameworks, making it suitable for established providers in similar collaborative setups.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
