Summary, notice description and lot information
NHS England - North East and Yorkshire has awarded contracts for the delivery of healthcare services within the children and young people's secure estates in Yorkshire and Humber. The procurement process, initiated by North of England Commissioning Support (NECS), focused on three service lots: Physical healthcare, Mental health/neurodevelopmental conditions, and Dental services, including orthodontics at HMYOI Wetherby. This contract was awarded through the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, which commenced on 1st October 2025.
The initial contract period spans 3 years and 6 months, with the option to extend for an additional 3 years, based on satisfactory performance. The awarded lots include significant services targeted at improving healthcare quality and accessibility in secure estates. This procurement offers substantial opportunities for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those focused on innovative health solutions, integration, and social impact.
The potential for a long-term contract with options for extension allows successful bidders to establish themselves within a stable framework. Companies with expertise in providing physical healthcare, mental health services, and dental care are well placed to benefit from this opportunity. Moreover, businesses targeting improvements in health inequalities and offering value-based health solutions would find this procurement a strategic fit, given the focus on quality, innovation, and social value enhancement.
