Summary, notice description and lot information
Wrexham County Borough Council has completed the procurement process to award a contract titled "North Wales Substance Misuse Psychological Interventions Service (PROC-25-216)" within the general public services industry category. The service, primarily located in North Wales, involves providing evidence-based psychological interventions to help individuals recover from substance misuse. The procurement was a limited process under the Health Services (Provider Selection Regime) (Wales) Regulations 2024, resulting in a direct award to the existing provider, Adferiad Recovery, ensuring continuity and quality of service without major changes in contractual arrangements.
The contract, signed on 16th December 2025, is valued at £3,160,835 GBP. This contract presents business growth opportunities, particularly for organisations experienced in offering psychological and therapeutic services. Large-scale providers that specialise in cognitive behavioural therapy, counselling, and harm reduction advice would be well-suited to compete or collaborate in delivering such comprehensive services.
Businesses in or near North Wales may find additional benefits in local access to the client base and service provision, leading to potential partnerships and expansions. The focus on quality in award criteria suggests that organisations with a robust record of delivering high-standard interventions could thrive in similar procurement opportunities.
