Summary, notice description and lot information
NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board is seeking to ensure continued provision of Primary Medical Services at Forest Surgery in Brandon, Suffolk. The procurement process is classified under the Health Services industry and is currently in the Award stage following an urgent award due to extraordinary circumstances. The existing contract will expire on 30 June 2025, and the new short-term contract will run from 1 July 2025 until 30 June 2026.
This urgent procurement is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, and has bypassed the usual Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This urgent tender provides an opportunity for businesses specialising in healthcare services, particularly those offering Primary Medical Services, to engage with NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board. The limited procurement method, due to urgent circumstances, highlights the importance of consistency and reliability in healthcare provision, making it an ideal fit for well-established medical service providers.
Business growth potential lies in the ability to continually support and expand healthcare services in the region, with possible contract modifications allowing for service expansion similar to the existing specification.
The current Alternative Provider Medical Services (APMS) Contract to provide the services to patients at Forest Surgery will expire on 30 June 2025. The Urgent Award to the existing provider is to ensure that there is continued provision of Primary Medical Services to the registered population of Forest Surgery in Brandon whilst the procurement in place to award a new contract is concluded. There is a requirement to award a new short term contract from the 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board are awarding the contract named within this notice due to an urgent circumstance which is outlined within the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The ICB may wish to introduce additional services during the lifetime of the contract ("Contract modifications"). Such contract modifications will be contemplated where additional requirements are similar and or complementary to the services already included in the Specification, at any given time. Such expansion would be by the addition of services commissioned by the Authority as named in the Contract Notice. To this end, after the award of contract, there is a possibility that the contract may be varied as allowable in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
