SOL Housing Reviews 2026
Overview
Summary, notice description and lot information
The current procurement process initiated by Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) involves a pre-market engagement to identify potential suppliers for the "SOL Housing Reviews 2026" service. This project falls under the services category, specifically targeting sectors like health and social work, housing, and miscellaneous services, and it will take place in Solihull, United Kingdom. The process is in the planning stage with the crucial date for responses set on 20th October 2025.
This tender aims to fulfill the requirements of the Housing Act 1996 by having an independent expert manage housing review services. The total project value is anticipated at £120,000 gross, with an operational period stretching from May 2026 to April 2028, and a possibility for renewal up to 2030. This engaging opportunity positions itself well for businesses specialising in housing, health, and social work services, particularly those with expertise in legal and housing decisions.
Companies with a robust understanding of the legislative requirements of the UK housing sector and experience in providing impartial reviews will find this project highly attractive. This engagement could offer sustained business growth by building long-term relationships with the sub-central government in the UK public sector. Organisations focused on providing relevant consultancy services could benefit significantly by shaping the service delivery model with their feedback during this market engagement stage.
This is not a procurement exercise, it is a market engagement. The purpose of the contract will be to ensure that decisions requested under S202 of the Housing Act 1996 are made on behalf of SMBC by a suitably qualified and experienced independent expert who is able to offer an impartial and objective review process. The service provider shall effectively discharge SMBC's duty under Section 202 of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended by the Homelessness Act 2002, the Localism Act 2011 and the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017) by making and detailing all relevant enquiries; writing review decision letters and adhering to all of the relevant legislative and other legal requirements (including 'The Homelessness (Review Procedure etc.)
Regulations 2018'). This will include having due regard to any additional relevant guidance which may be issued by the Government in relation to aspects of the service.
