Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process initiated by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust involves the selection of independent sector providers for sub-contracting musculoskeletal (MSK) services. Classified under the health services industry, this contract focuses on a co-ordinated system to manage patients' needs with preventative programmes and early interventions. The procurement stage is at the Award phase, specifically under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Direct Award Process C.
Representations must be made by 20 March 2024, with the awarded contract anticipated to run from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. The services will be delivered at Thornbury Hospital in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses adept in delivering high-quality and innovative health services, particularly those focusing on integration, collaboration, service sustainability, and social value.
Companies with the ability to improve access and reduce health inequalities will be well-suited. As the weighting criteria heavily favour these aspects (with quality and innovation accounting for 30% and social value for 25%), businesses meeting these requirements are encouraged to participate. Incumbent providers like Circle Health Group Limited already fulfil these criteria, setting a benchmark for quality and compliance with NHS standards.
The Musculoskeletal model for this contract is a co-ordinated system-wide approach that supports and encourages management of patients' needs at the lower levels of the model, with clear preventative programmes and early interventions, to reduce the volumes of patients who need more specialist intervention at the upper levels of the pyramid.
The services are to be provided to patients aged 18 and over who are referred to the Provider via the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS FT (STH) Single Point of Access (SPA).
This contract has been awarded under NHS Provider Selection Regime Direct Award C. One of the current incumbent suppliers is Circle Health Group Ltd delivering service from Thornbury Hospital. They are currently meeting all contractual and legislative requirements as detailed in the NHS Standard Subcontract.
The services will be provided under this contract for 12 months from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026
