Summary, notice description and lot information
Derry City and Strabane District Council are inviting suppliers to tender for the "T24-138BUS PEACEPLUS Culture Club" project. This service procurement falls under the Community Action Programme (CPV: 85322000). Located in the Derg District Electoral Area (DEA) in northern Ireland, the project aims to include the elderly rural community and potentially the immediate cross-border area through a series of cross-community, lunchtime cultural, musical and historical workshops spanning approximately 18 months.
Key deadlines include the tender submission closing on 22nd November 2024. The open procedure procurement method ensures a transparent and competitive selection process, with funding provided under the PEACEPLUS Programme 2021-2027 co-designed Local PEACEPLUS Action Plans by the European Union. This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in community action programmes, particularly those with expertise in cultural, musical, and historical workshop provisions.
The contract's focus on social cohesion and cross-community engagement aligns with small businesses (SMEs) and larger organisations that have experience working with diverse, elderly populations, especially in areas historically affected by conflict. Winning this contract, valued at approximately £63,000, could lead to further opportunities within the council’s social wellbeing initiatives and other regional projects aimed at fostering inclusive, community-driven growth in Derry and the surrounding regions.
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus Culture Club. This tender is aimed at inclusion of the elderly rural community located in the Derg District Electoral Area (DEA) and potentially in the immediate cross-border area. It will consist of a series of weekly, cross-community, lunchtime cultural, musical and historical workshops over approximately 18 months. The project will develop friendships and cross community relationships, serving the community well, helping to alleviate tensions between the communities and making a contribution to lasting peace and reconciliation. The Culture Club will offer a shared and inclusive programme of activities in a safe environment where participants can come together, enjoy each other's company, share a meal and engage in good relations activities. The project links with the Social Wellbeing pillar of Derg Growth Plan. It also aims to expand use of shared space and to increase social cohesion on a cross-community basis in an area (and with a generation) which was badly impacted by the 'Troubles'. Please refer to the CfT documents for further detail.
