Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for PeacePlus LGBTQIA+ Awareness. Derry City and Strabane District Council are seeking an organisation to deliver a project which aims to increase awareness and confidence of any adults working with people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, asexual or people who are questioning their sexual orientation and or gender identity (LGBTQIA+) to ensure they are treated with respect, dignity and empathy. The programme, which will be delivered over 1.5 years, aims to enhance awareness and knowledge among participants about LGBTQIA+ identities, issues, and the lived experiences of these communities to build a culture of understanding. Training and resources will be provided to empower individuals working with the LGBTQIA+ community to interact with empathy and informed respect creating a supportive environment. This project is under the Celebrating Cultures and Diversity Theme. Arising from the Co-design process across the District, this project should strive to bring key benefits across the entire council area including rural and urban areas.
