" This procurement focuses on providing specialist ASD diagnostic assessments to address growing demand in the UK, specifically targeting the UKL14 region. The procurement is in the Award stage as of 22 December 2025, with Healios Limited being recognised as the supplier, and has a contract period of up to five years. The process is governed by the Provider Selection Regime Wales (PSR Wales), and the procurement method used was an open procedure, highlighting a value of £4,000,000 with no fixed commitment on volumes.
This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for providers specialising in paediatric neurodevelopmental services. Companies that can deliver multi-disciplinary assessment services in line with NICE Guidelines will find this tender particularly relevant. Although the awarded contract allows for flexible patient volume management based on available funding, it opens avenues for experienced providers like large healthcare firms or consortia capable of delivering high-quality, specialised ASD diagnostic services.
Furthermore, with existing awarded suppliers being large organisations such as Healios Limited, other large or specialised businesses have the opportunity to align with ongoing standards expected by NHS Wales and potentially collaborate or compete for similar opportunities in the future.

HDUHB intends to award to a single or number of Provider(s) for children and young people over an initial three (3) year period with an option to extend for a further two (2) years. This is a zero-commitment contract, with volumes and service agreed between the HDUHB children's Neurodevelopmental service and Provider(s) as funding allows.
