Summary, notice description and lot information
" This procurement, classified under the industry category of health and social work services, aims to enhance service capacity in Kirklees. The procurement process is in the contract update stage, with the current modification effective from the week commencing 11th August 2025. The existing contract period for Lot 2 is scheduled to end on 30th November 2025.
The DPS engagement is centrally focused within the UKE44 region, specifically targeting the Kirklees area, and the current awards are active, indicating the procurement's forward movement towards its completion date on 21st June 2026. This tender represents a significant opportunity for businesses, particularly those specialising in health and social care services, to engage with public sector clients. The Council's initiative to establish a DPS for domiciliary care services opens doors for a range of providers, from SMEs to larger care service companies, capable of delivering personalized, high-quality care in service users' homes.
Businesses that excel in delivering adaptable care solutions, with the infrastructure to handle complex care needs and the agility to commence services swiftly, will find this an attractive opportunity. The elimination of competition from Lot 2's current providers due to notice served aligns potential new entrants for forthcoming procurement iterations to secure positions within this dynamic and essential sector.
Kirklees Council, in conjunction with the Greater Huddersfield Clinical Commissioning Group and North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group, established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) for the provision of domiciliary care services. The purpose of the procurement exercise was to seek and appoint providers to the DPS, who have the relevant skills and experience, for the delivery of personal care and support (domiciliary care) in service users homes. Kirklees Council and the CCG's wished to establish a DPS to be able to access additional capacity in the market and be able to purchase services to support people to live successfully in their own homes with an appropriate range of person centred services and to enable service users receiving care to lead a good quality of life, maximising their independence, remain safe and comfortable in their own homes for as long as possible whilst maintaining their individual dignity, privacy and freedom of choice.
