Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has concluded the award stage of a public procurement process for the contract titled "GP Locally Commissioned Services Contract - Oughtibridge Surgery," falling under the general-practitioner services category. This specific procurement, applicable to the region of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, was conducted through a limited procurement method, deemed outside the scope of the Procurement Act 2023 due to the Provider Selection Regime (PSR) regulations. The contract's period spans from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026, having been officially signed on 1st April 2025, with Oughtibridge Surgery being the awarded supplier.
This procurement is part of a broader initiative to enhance locally commissioned services aligning with the GP Framework, without a prior call for competition as the decision was internally reached by relevant governing bodies in July 2024. This award presents business growth opportunities primarily for existing GP providers within the group designated to deliver such services, due to the required integration with the GP Framework contract. It further emphasizes the importance of service interdependency, particularly for those already operating within the healthcare sector in South Yorkshire.
SMEs, especially those with a focus on health services in the region, can leverage this partnership model, expanding their service offerings and increasing activity-based revenue under local pricing structures. The initiative invites suitable providers who meet specific contract criteria, though the award process concluded without anticipation of alternative provider competition, illustrating a strategic alignment with local healthcare delivery needs.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
