Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire ICB has completed the procurement process for the GP Locally Commissioned Services Contract at the Sheffield Medical Centre, located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This contract falls under the services category, specifically targeting general-practitioner services within the healthcare industry. The procurement process was conducted under the Provider Selection Regime (PSR), as the Health care Services Regulations 2023 were applicable, bypassing the requirements outlined in the Procurement Act Regulations 2023.
The contract has been awarded using a limited procurement method with no prior publication of a call for competition, emphasising the unique need for services to be delivered by existing GP providers. The award was finalised on the 23rd of May 2025, and the contract period extends from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. This procurement represents a significant opportunity for growth within the healthcare services sector, particularly for general practice providers, as it involves the provision of locally commissioned services that augment the existing GP Framework.
It is well-suited for businesses already integrated into the GP system or those capable of establishing synergy between their services and the GP contracts. Given the procurement's focus on maintaining service interdependency with the GP Framework, businesses adept at delivering specialised, activity-based services with local pricing strategies would find this contract advantageous.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
