Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB) is actively seeking input for the Obesity Pathway Innovation Programme (OPIP), focusing on innovative health service solutions within the region marked as UKH14 and UKH34. This initiative, positioned in the Planning stage, outlines an ambition to enhance obesity care pathways by reducing barriers and improving access. Potential partners had the opportunity to express interest via the e-procurement system by late October 2025 for initial engagement on the programme, with a future notice date set for April 2026 to further refine the procurement strategy.
This procurement initiative presents substantial growth prospects for businesses involved in health services and innovations, particularly those experienced in developing integrated models of care or pioneering outreach strategies. Organisations capable of contributing best practices or innovative service models are particularly suited to engage with the NHS to potentially influence the shape of the healthcare model within the area. Opportunities for direct engagement with commissioners were available, allowing businesses to propose impactful solutions that align with the NHS's long-term plans, potentially securing a competitive position in subsequent procurement processes.
We are inviting expressions of interest and innovative ideas to inform our OPIP application across one or both funding strands: * Strand 1: Improving access and management of weight management services * Strand 2: Developing new or enhanced care pathways, including community and specialist support To inform their bid, the ICB is launching a market engagement opportunity to explore innovative ideas, technologies and service models that could support their competitive response. Providers and partners interested in engaging with SNEE ICB have 2 options available to them, express an interest within the e-procurement system and complete the registration questionnaire, then either: * request a 1:1 session with commissioners or, * submit a written response only. Please note, the optional 30-minute session will be on Thursday 30th October or Friday 31st October. These requests will be prioritised to organisations who can most directly support achieving our ambition. Slots will be confirmed on Tuesday 28th October. Please note: This soft market engagement is solely to support the development of our OPIP funding bid. If successful, the ICB will undertake further market engagement to refine the model and proceed with an appropriate procurement process to invite formal offers for service delivery. Prior to this the ICB would like to understand the level of interest in the market and responses to the questions posed below. 1. What best practice and innovation are you currently involved in within other localities? 2. Do you have any ideas, models, or approaches you would like to suggest to help shape our bid? If so, what are they? 3. How would you contribute to support patients using an outreach model? 4. How would your service or innovation align to the principles in the NHS 10-year plan? If you would like to be involved in the market engagement, please make contact with procurement@snee.nhs.uk, with your organisation name and an outline of the support / offer your organisation would be able to provide.
