The NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board (SNEE ICB) has awarded a contract for Primary Dental Services in Ipswich, Suffolk, under the industry's dental practice and related services classification (CPV code: 85130000). 25 excluding VAT. The procurement process followed the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, utilising a direct award through process C, bypassing the Public Contract Regulations 2015.
The service contract aims to maintain and potentially enhance dental care provision in the region, with opportunities for service modifications as needed. The formal contract award notice was issued on 26th November 2025, after the decision was made by the ICB Dental Committee on 14th October 2025, ensuring quality service delivery by the existing provider, Tuddenham Road Dental Surgery. This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), already involved in the dental services sector or those looking to expand their footprint in the healthcare market within the UK.
The contract extends an existing service term, which means that businesses with a strong track record in primary dental services could benefit from stable, long-term engagement. Additionally, there's scope for prospective providers who can offer innovative, high-quality, and value-driven dental care solutions aligned with SNEE ICB's objectives. Businesses that focus on integration and collaboration within the healthcare system, as well as those contributing to social value initiatives like the SNEE Green Plan, will likely find a competitive edge in winning similar public contracts in the future.
The service will continue to provide Primary Dental Services in Ipswich. The contract has previously been renewed annually but will now change to a five-year term from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2032. The lifetime value of the contract is expected to be PS210,941.25 (subject to DDRB uplifts) NHS Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board are awarding the contract named within this notice under the Direct Award C process which is outlined within the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023.
