Provision of Homecare Services

Westmorland and Furness Council is in the planning stages of a procurement process for the provision of homecare services, aimed at delivering person-centred care within the home for adults aged 18 and over. The procurement, classified under welfare services for the elderly and disabled, is planned according to the open procedure method, with an estimated contract period from 1st April 2027 to 31st March 2030. The procurement value is projected at £46,500,000, and a future notice date is scheduled for 1st July 2026.

The services will be delivered in the region UKD12, with details about planned requirements recently published on 21st May 2025. This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses involved in providing welfare services, particularly those specialising in homecare. Given the high contract value and focus on comprehensive care, SMEs and VCSEs are particularly well-suited to bid, leveraging their capacity to offer personalised and holistic solutions.
