Aberdeenshire Council requires the provision of a professional and innovative Short Break (Respite Care) Service for Adults with Learning Disabilities. The service is provided for both planned and unplanned and emergency breaks. The Short Break (Respite Care) service is intended to be used in situations where: The Supported Person needs a break from their usual situation. The Carer needs a break from care provision. The recipient of the service shall always be the Supported Person (a cared for person), but it is acknowledged that the Carer of the Supported Person is intended to be a beneficiary of the service. The Service Provider shall provide it's Short (Respite Care) Breaks Service to Adults with Learning Disabilities for three hundred and sixty one (361) nights per annum. The Service is not available on 25th and 26th December and 1st and 2nd January. The provision of the Respite Service may include but will not be limited to the following activities: Assistance with the personal care of the Supported Person Awareness of and assisting with the Supported Persons' health needs Provision of meals and snacks that are appropriate to any health needs and are nutritious Support to engage in social activities Support with medication Dealing with shopping and money
