Hartlepool Borough Council is leading a procurement process titled "Connect to Work," currently in the planning stage. This initiative is part of the Tees Valley Connect to Work Programme, aimed at delivering tailored employment support services. The programme will operate across various regions in the United Kingdom, including UKC11, UKC12, and UKC13, focusing on services in administration, social security, and health sectors.
A pre-market engagement session is scheduled for 12th November 2025 at the Trinity Centre, Middlesbrough. The programme, supported by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the UK Government, is designed to assist individuals with disabilities, health conditions, and complex barriers in the workforce to secure and retain jobs. The contract period is planned from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2031.
This tender is an excellent opportunity for businesses providing employment support services, particularly those specialising in health and social work services, education and training, and business consultancy. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprises (VCSEs) are especially encouraged to engage, as the procurement process includes framework agreements suitable for these entities. This event will bring together key partners, stakeholders, and interested organisations to provide an overview of the programme and outline the proposed commissioning approach. It's a valuable opportunity to engage early and help shape the future delivery of employment support across Tees Valley.
About the Programme: Connect to Work is a voluntary local supported employment programme launched by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and funded by the UK Government. It is designed to support Disabled People or People with Health Conditions, and Individuals with Complex Barriers to move into and maintain Employment It will also provide support to those in work but at risk of losing their employment, helping them to retain their jobs. The programme will offer tailored support to help eligible participants find and sustain meaningful employment.
