Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract under the Health care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 for GP Locally Commissioned Services at the Porter Brook Medical Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. This contract, classified under general-practitioner services, was awarded via a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition, highlighting the necessity for a specific provider due to regulatory requirements. The contract period is set from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, with the procurement stage now complete, having been confirmed by a decision made in July 2024.
This tender opens opportunities for businesses involved in healthcare, particularly those specialising in general-practitioner services and operating under the GP Framework. As it is a direct award procedure, it benefits existing providers within the GP Framework, allowing them to deliver integrated Locally Commissioned Services (LCS) alongside their existing contracts. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within the healthcare sector, especially those already integrated into the GP Framework, would find this contract advantageous, providing potential for growth and stability through engagement with public healthcare service provision in Sheffield.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
