Summary, notice description and lot information
NHS South Yorkshire ICB has concluded a procurement process under the Provider Selection Regime for GP Locally Commissioned Services at the Veritas Health Centre in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. The contract, effective from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026, falls within the health sector, specifically general-practitioner services, and was awarded without prior publication of a call for competition. The decision was reached by the Sheffield Senior Management and Sheffield Leadership Teams in July 2024, with no conflicts of interest identified.
The procurement stage is complete, with the contract awarded to Veritas Health Centre on 1 April 2025, and is governed by the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This tender offers significant growth opportunities for established healthcare providers, particularly those holding contracts via the GP Framework. Since the contract payment is based on local activity prices, it could present a financially viable opportunity for providers who can integrate the Locally Commissioned Services with existing GP services.
Small to medium-sized enterprises, like Veritas Health Centre, already comply with these requirements and are well-positioned to benefit, highlighting a favorable environment for similar businesses capable of meeting the criteria of the GP Framework and delivering comprehensive healthcare services in South Yorkshire.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
