The service will deliver: * Support the MST-CAN team to understand the needs and behaviours of children, young people and adults. * Support the MST-CAN team to refer children and young people to appropriate specialist child psychiatrist. * Support the MST-CAN team to work specifically with trauma, depression, anxiety and psychological need from substance misuse. Liaise with other Psychiatrists, Doctors and Health Services as appropriate for families. * Psychiatric evaluations of child and adult family members, as indicated where there is a psychiatric barrier or safety concern in MST treatment. * On-going interface with the treatment team concerning psychiatric and medical diagnosis that pertain to children and adult family members and ongoing community liaison. * physicians/psychiatrists concerning medical or psychiatric care of child and adult family members. * Supporting MST therapists and families through prolonged exposure and trauma focused CBT. * Work to develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the physicians and staff of local psychiatric inpatient unit(s) and other residential treatment facilities as needed. * Liaison with community drug and alcohol services and their psychiatry team to coordinate detox as required. * Close on-going collaboration with inpatient physicians and clinical team when MST-CAN child or adult family members are placed in a psychiatric hospital. * Work with the MST-CAN team to modify and implement safety plans, safety protocols and other relevant documentation. * Contribute to MST team training and booster sessions. * Provide advice to the MST-CAN. * Work with MST-CAN expert to develop and implement evidence-based psychopharmacologic treatment protocols. * The psychiatrist is expected to attend supervision regularly as need and opportunity dictates in discussion with the supervisor. This will help the psychiatrist be aware of the systemic, family and individual factors that impact youth and family member psychiatric problems. * Doing so will also provide an opportunity for the psychiatrist to assist the team with issues or concerns related to child and adult psychiatric and medical problems. * Keep written records of work carried out and maintain these in line with the contract agreement. This is a Provider Selection Regime(PSR) intention to award notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime)Regulations 2023.
