Summary, notice description and lot information
The procurement process for the "Community Pain Management Service" is being managed by NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin Integrated Care Board, located in Telford, United Kingdom. The procurement falls under the category of community health services, specifically targeting the provision of pain management services. This process represents a completed stage, as the Intention to Award Notice has evolved into an active contract awarded to Connect Health Pain Services Limited.
Key dates include the contract award date of 1st April 2025, with the service agreement lasting until 31st March 2026. 00 and the procurement method used was a direct award, facilitated under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 without prior publication of a call for competition. This tender offers significant business growth opportunities for organisations specialising in community health services, particularly those with experience in managing complex care pathways such as pain management.
The limited procurement process signifies a unique opportunity for businesses capable of meeting and maintaining high standards of service delivery. Large-scale providers, similar to Connect Health Pain Services Limited, with the capability to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary approaches to treatment, including physiological and psychological therapies, align well with the requirements. Businesses familiar with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) and adept in delivering high-quality, value-based community health services could benefit greatly from positioning themselves for similar future procurements.
This Intention to Award Notice is issued in accordance with the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. The Procurement relates to the provision of Community Pain Services. The ICB holds a contract with Connect Health for a Community Pain Service. The service consists of the following elements: * Triage - A clinician triages all pain management referrals and, if not suitable for the community service, these are referred to secondary care via RAS and TRAQs. * Assessment - Assessment is carried out via a multi-disciplinary approach most deemed appropriate at triage. This takes place within four (4) weeks of referral. * Treatments and Interventions - This is a multi-disciplinary approach which may include medication management, physiotherapy, psychological therapy (including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)), promoting self-management techniques and a limited number of invasive interventions (in line with NICE guidelines and the NHS STW Value Based Commissioning policy). NHS STW is satisfied that the requirements for the provision of health care services are not changing considerably, i.e., they don't meet the considerable change threshold as set out in Regulation 6(10). The intention is to award a contract to Connect Health, the existing provider, via the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, Regulation 9, Direct Award C. The contract period shall be for a period 12-months from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. The estimated contract value is PS855,187.00. During the 12-month period the ICB intends to re-design and re-commission this service.
