Summary, notice description and lot information
The East London NHS Foundation Trust is in the planning stage for its "Most Suitable Provider (MSP) NEL Intensive Community Support Service" tender, classified under health services. This procurement focuses on delivering personalised therapeutic support to children, young people (CYP) and their families or carers within the community to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions and support smoother discharges. This contract, valued at £1,000,000, targets services in the UKI4 region.
A future notice is expected by 11 April 2025. The contract will follow the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 rather than typical public contract regulations. Businesses specialising in health services, particularly those experienced in providing community-based therapeutic care and support for children and young people, will find this tender an excellent opportunity for growth.
It is ideal for providers who can offer responsive, therapeutic approaches, including support for foster carers and placement providers. This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses capable of contributing to reducing hospital admissions and preventing children from entering high-cost social care placements.
The Intensive Community Support Service (this is a place holder name; we expect service user input to the final service name) will provide therapeutic support to CYP and families/carers in their homes. The aim is to enable them to receive personalised care in the community, within their family where possible, to reduce preventable and unhelpful admissions to CAMHS inpatient services and acute hospitals and reduce the number of delayed discharges within inpatient services. In addition, this service aims to reduce the need for children and young people to enter into Local Authority Care including being accommodated in high-cost social care placements, social care placements that are far away from their local area and reducing the potential for children having to move home multiple times.<br/>The intensive service will also provide intensive consultation and support for foster carers and placement providers to develop responsive and therapeutic approaches to maintain and foster good homes where a child is no longer able to remain within their family home as well as preventing children having to move home multiple times particular in the event of a reoccurring mental health presentation. Additional information: This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intended approach notice. The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award.
