Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board (ICB) has awarded a contract to GP Health Partners Limited (GPHP) for the provision of Dermatology Step-up Clinics in West Surrey. This contract, valued at approximately £500,000 over a two-year term from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2026, has been awarded through a Direct Award Process C, following the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. This procurement falls outside the typical Public Contracts Regulations 2015 scope, specifically under a limited procurement method without prior publication of a call for competition.
The process is aimed at enhancing service quality and integration within the local health system, focusing on non-two-week-wait dermatology patients. The NHS Surrey Heartlands Commissioning, Contracting & Commercial Committee approved the award on 22nd October 2024. This opportunity is significant for businesses focused on healthcare and dermatology services, particularly those capable of providing innovative, sustainable, and community-integrated care solutions.
GPHP's service is poised to deliver localised consultations, thereby improving access and reducing patient travel. Businesses equipped for value-driven healthcare delivery that supports NHS sustainability goals, particularly in community settings, would find this contract highly suitable. Moreover, organisations capable of fostering collaboration among GPs, consultants, and nurses to optimise care delivery and workforce development are well-positioned to leverage this contract for growth, meeting the ICB’s objectives for improved patient outcomes and equitable resource use.
This provider manages and runs Dermatology Step-up Clinics to provide enough capacity to service all non-two-week-wait dermatology patients. The expected pathway for a given patient would begin with an appointment with the patient's GP. If the patient's GP believes the further treatment of the patient should be continued at the step-up clinic, GPs may do a referral into the Dermatology Step-up Clinic Service. The approximate lifetime value of the contract will be PS500,000 over the 2-year term, from 1st April 2024 until 31st March 2026.
