Summary, notice description and lot information
The NHS South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board has awarded a contract as part of the Provider Selection Regime for GP Locally Commissioned Services at The Thorpe Practice in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Consisting of general-practitioner services, the contract runs from 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2026. Initiated as a direct award process under the Health care Services Provider Selection Regime Regulations 2023, this award did not require a prior call for competition.
The procurement process was classified under the "services" category, and the award decision was initially made in July 2024 by the Sheffield Senior Management and Leadership Teams. This tender provides substantial opportunities for businesses in the healthcare sector, particularly those engaged in delivering GP services. Companies already positioned within the GP Framework and capable of integrating Locally Commissioned Services will find this contract beneficial for business growth.
With a focus on enhancing existing GP services, this contract is ideally suited for suppliers who can manage the interdependency required between the GP Framework and the commissioned services. Although limited to specific providers, the procurement process allows for pricing based on local activity, presenting potential for economic expansion within the market.
This contract Award has been made following direct award process A of the Provider Selection Regime.

These contracts are awarded to an existing group of providers. Although we would not restrict the number of providers who deliver these LCS services provided they meet the contract and specification criteria, the primary reason that these services can only be delivered by this group of providers (GP) is because they are required to hold a contract via the GP Framework and deliver the LCS alongside these services; the LCS is designed to enhance the GP Framework contract and not stand alone, therefore, interdependency between the two services is paramount.

The provider is paid on an activity basis based on local prices. The contract will be from 01/04/2025 to 31/03/2026
